Challenger

In this account of the events preceding the 1986 Challenger space shuttle launch, engineer Roger Boisjoly tries in vain to convince NASA management of safety concerns. Boisjoly and other engineers argue that the O-ring design hasn't been properly tested at low temperatures, but they are overruled by NASA executive Larry Mulloy. Oblivious to the risks, schoolteacher Christa McAuliffe and six others prepare to go into space, with tragic results.
