Bryan and Sarah Baeumler look back on the chapter in their life when Bryan spearheaded construction efforts on the family home and Sarah juggled her roles as wife, mother and chief designer to transform their new house into a home.
With spring on the way, Bryan must fix the stained limestone on the exterior of the house and fulfill Sarah's request to resurrect the old doors for the playroom; the new addition is ready for hardwood, but Bryan might not be ready for the bill.
Bryan pushes to complete the drywall, but electrical and staircase hiccups force him to slow down; as the long winter continues, Bryan comes home to some unfortunate surprises after the family's vacation.
As winter looms, Bryan makes major repairs to the existing part of the house and disrupts the sleeping arrangements for the entire family.
Bryan is forced to leave town, and the timing couldn't be worse as Mother Baeumler is left to battle with Mother Nature on her own; Bryan returns home to a damp disaster.
Builder Bryan Baeumler convinces his wife to uproot their growing family and head to the country, where he plans to build their dream home; Bryan begins renovation on the new house while his family lives there.
